contributions

When I was looking at the contributions list I notice a few things. The first thing that I notice was that the people in zip codes with mainly African Americans didn't contribute as much as other zip codes. I also was shocked to see how some of the professors contributed as well. My mother lives in a mainly Black neighborhood and not very many people contributed any money. I live in a mainly white neighborhood and a lot of people gave money the candidates. I think the reason this is happening is that some neighborhoods have more extra money then others.

Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, money does matter. People who give money to candidates are more likely to have their concerns addressed than people who do not give. Money is not everything, however. COmmunities that are well organized and can turn out large number of voters will have more political cout than those that do not.
